Why Montessori?
We believe that joy and independence are intertwined. The Montessori method is scientifically designed to surround children with exercises that prepare them to be independent, to refine the senses, and to interact with the natural world. Joy abounds when children are able to dress themselves independently, when they compose a new song on the bells, and when they discover they know the name of the tree outside their bedroom window.

We’ve fully equipped our classrooms with the highest quality Montessori materials so that our children can repeat Montessori learning exercises as many times as they wish. It is through that repetition that the children will problem solve and practice the particular skill that they are so eager to master. This all happens as the trained Montessori guide observes, takes notes and uses that information to enrich and create a plan for that child. At De Colores Montessori, this is all carried out in a Spanish Immersion environment with native Spanish speaking Montessori guides.
Becoming an independent individual
The Montessori method takes into account that children, much like adults, learn and refine themselves at their own rhythm. Every person deserves the chance to become an independent individual. It’s for that reason that we allow children the space to practice decision making, by choosing amongst options that the trained guide has selected and designed.
