Ms. Tatiana

Ms. Tatiana was born in Libertad, El Salvador and emigrated to the United States in 2013. She is a daughter, sister, and aunt. She enjoys visiting new places, walking, reading, and working out.

After three years of working as a Montessori assistant Guide and obtaining her Child Development Associate, Ms. Tatiana enrolled at Centro de Entrenamiento Montessori Sierra Madre (CEM) in Monterrey, Mexico to obtain her certification as Lead Montessori Guide.

From the moment she walked into the Montessori environment, she was delighted to see beautiful materials ready for the children to use, guides modeling grace and courtesy to their students…

She is delighted to belong to the De Colores community, and to have a wonderful team of co-workers and administrators to work with.

Ms. Maria was born in El Salvador and arrived in the United States in January of 2009. She is married and has a 5-year-old boy.

In her free time, she loves spending time outdoors with her family, especially in the summer season, when she goes to the beach.

She started working at De Colores in June of 2021 and can’t wait to continue to grow in this community.

Ms. Amanda

Ms. Amanda was born in Jutiapa, Guatemala and emigrated to the United States in 2007. She is a mother and wife. She enjoys preparing dishes from her hometown and Bolivian desserts. She enjoys spending time with her family and is very interested in interior design.

Ms. Amanda holds a teaching credential for early childhood. She also holds a Montessori credential for children 3 to 6 years old. She has 14 years of experience working with young children. She is one of the founding members of De Colores, which opened in 2008.

Ms. Jasmine was born in Maryland on July 7th, 2000. Her lifelong passion is reading and drawing. She loves working with children and watching them develop.

Ms. Jasmine has 4 years of experience working with young children. She has been at De Colores since​ January, 2022. She is working towards her BS in Early Childhood Education.

Ms. Luz was born in the city of Medellin, Colombia. She is a mother and wife. She loves singing, dancing and drawing. Her lifelong passion is being an early childhood educator.

She has been working with small children for 12 years. She studied to become a Montessori Guide for ages 0 to 3 through the MOLAT training center and received her credential in September 2020.

She is passionate about the world of education, always unlearning and relearning with the children.

Ms. Laura was born in Bogota, Colombia and emigrated to the United States in 2020.

Ms. Laura found her calling to work with young children, after working as a volunteer for two years as an early childhood educator. Since then, she loves working with young children and giving back to the community.

During her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Ms. Laura joined the De Colores community in September 2021. At De Colores, she has the opportunity to observe firsthand the great potential that each child has and learns from them every day.

Ms. Ester was born in El Salvador and moved to the United States in October 2020. She enjoys hiking with her husband and cooking new dishes.

Ms. Ester has her Child Development Associate for Infants and Toddlers (CDA) and has been at De Colores since September 2022.

Ms. Gladis was born in San Miguel, El Salvador and emigrated to the United States in 2008 together with her husband and two sons.
She loves going on walks, spending time with her family and traveling to visit family in El Salvador.

Ms. Gladis has been part of the De Colores teaching community since 2011 and loves working with this community.

Ms. Gladis has been working with small children for more than 11 years. She studied to become a Montessori Guide for ages 0 to 3 through the MOLAT training center and received her credential in September 2020.

Ms. Maricela was born in El Salvador and emigrated to the United States in 2001.

In her free time, she loves going to the park with her daughters, cooking and spending time with her family.

Ms. Maricela joined the De Colores community in September of 2021 and is very excited to have the opportunity to work with the Montessori Method and to continue to grow professionally.

Ms. Yosmeidy is from the Dominican Republic and moved to the US in 2004.

In her free time, she enjoys going on walks and riding her bicycle with her sons. She also loves gardening and listening to music.

Ms. Yosmeidy has a Child Development Associate credential for children 0 to 3 years of age. She has been part of the De Colores team since 2011.

Ms. Digna was born in La Union, El Salvador and emigrated to the United States in 1993.

In her free time Ms. Digna likes to spend time with her family, sewing and engaging in activities that enrich her spirit and offer her inner peace.

Ms. Marisol was born in San Miguel, El Salvador and emigrated to the United States in 2001. 

When she is not at De Colores, she likes to spend time with her family. To cook and have fun with her grandchildren.

Ms. Guiseld is from San Salvador, El Salvador and moved to the US in 2008.

In her free time, she enjoys going on walks on the beach and being outdoors.

She also enjoys shopping around with her children.

She has been part of the De Colores Team since 2018.

Ms. Maritza

Administrative Assistant

Ms. Maritza was born in La Paz, Bolivia and emigrated to the US in 1993. She enjoys reading, going to the theater and going to church with her family.

Ms. Maritza has been working at De Colores since 2013.

She loves working with children and families and is currently in the last year of her Associate Degree for Early Childhood Education at the University of the District of Columbia.

Ms. Paulina

Education director

Ms. Paulina was born and raised in Mexico. She arrived in the United States in 2005. In 2014, she started working at the first Montessori school founded in Maryland. There, she started her Montessori career as a Spanish teacher and later as an Assistant Guide in the Young Toddler Community. 

In 2019, Ms. Paulina received her Montessori Certification from the Association Montessori Internationale and her Masters in Montessori Education from Loyola University. After finalizing her studies, she worked as a lead Montessori guide for four years in the Casa de Niños (ages 3 to 6). In June 2023, she joined the De Colores team as the Education Director.    

In her free time, Ms. Paulina likes spending time with her children, husband, and dog. She enjoys spending time with friends, bike rides with her family, reading, and walking with her dog.

Ms. Florencia

Executive Director

Ms. Florencia was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2001, after obtaining her Masters in Fine Arts Education, she moved to Washington DC, where she worked as an art teacher for three years.

In 2008, she founded De Colores, where she played many different roles, from lead teacher to Executive Director.

In 2018 she earned her Association Montessori International (AMI) Diploma and MEd. from Loyola University, Maryland.

When she is not enjoying her time at De Colores, Ms. Florencia likes spending time with her friends, going to the theater, reading, cooking with children and going on walks with her dog.

Ms. Itzel

Education Director

Ms. Itzel was born in Mexico and grew up in the DC area. She is a mother, partner, Montessori guide, and anti-bias antiracist (ABAR) educator. She loves reading, laughing, and singing with her three-year-old.

Ms. Itzel has 12 years of experience working with young children. She has been at De Colores since 2019.

She holds a Master of Arts in Education from St. Catherine University. She also holds an AMS certified Montessori credential for children 3 to 6 years old. She graduated from the Centro de Entrenamiento Montessori Sierra Madre (CEM) in Monterrey, Mexico in 2011.
